The tables
Billiard, all night
Tables under low lamps, priced per table rather than per person. Bring three friends and it costs the same. Tournaments run regularly, with an entry fee and a prize pool worth turning up for.
The shelves
Hundreds of board games
No entrance fee and no hourly rate. Spend 47 AED each in the kitchen on coffee, food or drinks, and the games are yours for as long as you want them.
Bring your own game and play for free. Special nights happen often, including Blood on the Clocktower with a storyteller running it.
Pricing
Billiard by the table, games by what you eat
Nothing is charged by the hour except the tables, and there is no entrance fee for the shelves. Dubai is an expensive city to go out in, so prices here are kept low on purpose.
The regulars
More of a family than a venue
Hiba and Georgios opened Spartacues because Dubai needed a room like this. A couple of years on, the WhatsApp community has passed 600 people and plenty of them are here every week.
Everyone is welcome and everyone is competitive. Turn up on your own and someone will teach you a game.
What’s on
Tournaments, special nights, and the occasional very late finish
Billiard tournaments, board game nights and one off events run through the week. Ask in the WhatsApp group and someone will tell you what is worth coming for.
