over 600 people play here. Some come for a tournament and some come to be taught a game they have never heard of, and both end up at the same tables.
Walking in
Nobody here started out knowing anybody
A room full of regulars is intimidating from the door and never once you are through it. This is what to expect.
Turn up on your own
Most people do at least once. Sit at a table that needs another player and that is the whole introduction.
Not knowing the rules is normal
Say so and the table teaches you. Everyone at a game night expects to be explaining something to somebody.
As competitive as you want
Tournaments three nights a week for people who came to win, and tables where nobody is keeping score.
Nothing to book
Walk in. No membership and no sign up, and upstairs no charge beyond 47 AED each in the kitchen.

How to be in it
The WhatsApp groups hear first
Nights get arranged there before they are posted anywhere. There are two of them, so nobody ends up with a phone full of messages about a game they do not play.
Ask Hiba, our manager, to add you to either or both. Message us, or say so next time you are in.
Every week
There is almost always something on
Billiard tournaments three nights a week, Catan on Tuesdays, and a storyteller running Blood on the Clocktower on Wednesdays. Beginners are genuinely welcome at all of them.

Your night
Bring us something to run
A tournament in a game we have never hosted, a campaign that needs a room, a monthly meetup. Plenty of what is on the calendar is there because somebody asked.
Tell us what you have in mind and we will find a night that is not already busy, put it in front of the community, and set the room up for however many turn up.
Hiba and Georgios did not want a venue people pass through. They wanted regulars, rivals and friends, which is a thing you build rather than open.
Good questions
Questions about turning up
Coming on your own, learning a game, and hearing about the next one.
Can I come on my own?
What if I do not know how to play?
What runs every week?
How do I hear about events?
Can I run my own event or tournament here?
Come and meet everyone
Turn up, order something, and say it is your first time. That is genuinely all it takes.
